About the Midland DDA What is a DDA anyway?The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a body created under authority of P.A. 197 of 1975, as amended, for the purposes of preventing deterioration in business districts, to create and implement development plans, to issue bonds, and to utilize tax increment financing. The DDA has four standing committees: Executive Committee, Economic Sustainability, Communications and Budget and Finance. How is the DDA financed?As a department of the City of Midland, you can check out the City’s budget by visiting the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, or by visiting the city’s website at www.midland-mi.org. How can I find out more about the DDA? The DDA Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month in Council Chambers at City Hall. The Board meetings are televised on Charter Cable Channel 96 (schedule can be found at www.midland-mi.org). If you are interested in serving on the DDA Board, please visit the City of Midland's website at www.midland-mi.org and fill out an online application.
