Congratulations to our MDBA Award Winners!  

The 2009 MDBA Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Melinda Elwell from Wolverine Bank.
The willingness and enthusiasm from Melinda to help make community events, as well as Downtown Midland businesses successful is demonstrated by involvement in the community; the Midland Downtown Business Association, helping with downtown business participation with Farmer’s Market or participating in events throughout the year with the Downtown Development Authority. In day to day work life, this volunteer is referred to as a “friendly face” and a “customer favorite.” Congratulations Melinda!

The 2009 MDBA Business Person of the Year was awarded to Pam Gallagher, owner of Heather 'n Holly.
Seven years ago this fall Heather 'n Holly came to Downtown Midland. Pam works hard offering much and never asking anything in return.  When special events are scheduled, Pam is always first to the plate with ideas and when it comes to special promotions her creativity flows. Pam keeps consistent store hours, inclusive of nights and Sundays and reaches outside of our Downtown district as well. Congratulations Pam on being the Business Person of the Year!

Downtown Midland Legacy Awards
The Legacy Award is meant to honor those businesses that have blazed the trail for our great downtown traditions. The winners are:

• Ieuter Insurance Group, recognizing more than 70 years of outstanding customer service, business expertise and generosity to the Midland Community.
• Glover Pharmacy, for its legacy as an example of what small-family-business excellence is all about and having left a solid foundation for which Downtown Midland businesses are still built upon today. 
• Wolverine Bank for its 77 years of business excellence and leadership that started right here in Downtown Midland.
