PERFORM IN THE COMMONS LIVE MUSIC SERIES

We are accepting applications for artists and bands for the Commons Live Music Series in Downtown Midland!

Are you or your band interested in performing in the Commons Live Music Series? We are looking for talented musicians and bands from across Michigan to perform during our Downtown Midland Pedestrian Plaza months, June – September, from 7-9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night.

About The Commons Live Music Series:

The Commons Live Music Series is an extraordinary community event taking place in Downtown Midland’s Pedestrian Plaza, a two block road closure on Main Street from Ashman to Rodd Streets. Throughout summer, visitors are able to play outdoor games, attend special events, and of course, dance the night away to live music.

Performances are held on an uncovered 24′ x 16′ stage at the intersection of McDonald and Main Street. Shows take place every Friday and Saturday evening from 7–9 p.m.

This series draws in musicians from across Michigan and attracts audiences throughout the mid-Michigan area, making it a beloved summer staple.

Applicant Information:

  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

  • All artists and bands must provide their own sound and lighting.

  • Full bands (typically 3+ members) are preferred, but we welcome all artists and bands to apply.

  • Performance dates are limited – we receive many wonderful applications each year, so while we do our best to feature a variety of artists, not all applicants will be scheduled.

The schedule will be determined by the Downtown Events Coordinator for the City of Midland Downtown Development Authority. If selected, you will be contacted to provide available dates and a W9.

This application will remain open all year, but to be sure to apply by October 31, 2027 to ensure your application is reviewed for the 2027 season.

After March of 2027 only new artist requests will need to complete the application.
