Join us in Downtown Midland for a 4th of July Block Party!

Join the City of Midland Parks and Recreation, Downtown Midland, and the Great Lakes Loons for a 4th of July Block Party on Thursday, July 4! The day will include baseball, live music, food and beverage vendors,  and an awesome fireworks display. Whatever your preference for celebrating the Fourth of July, Downtown Midland has you covered.

Kick off your day enjoying all the Pedestrian Plaza has to offer. Challenge your friends to some fun yard games or just chill out on the comfy outdoor furniture. Don’t forget to add a dash of local flavor to your day by shopping and dining at the participating businesses. It’s a day of pure joy and local charm, waiting just for you!

Continue your afternoon at Dow Diamond beginning at 4pm on Thursday, July 4t where you can enjoy baseball, live music, food truck and more. This event promises a day full of fun, music, and celebration PLUS a double-fireworks show!

DOWNTOWN MIDLAND

Start your adventure in the heart of Midland, where shopping and dining aren’t tasks, they’re a treat! Mosey on over to local downtown businesses and let your retail therapy begin. Don’t forget to bask in the sunshine on the comfy outdoor furniture at the Pedestrian Plaza. Oh, and that corn hole game you’ve been neglecting? It’s time to dust it off and let the good times roll!

Dine Local: Brinstar Arcade Bar & Grill, Cafe Zinc, Decker’s Lounge, Grape Beginnings Winery, Gratzi, Molasses Smokehouse, ONe Eighteen, Oxygen Lounge, Pizza Sam’s, Proper Taco, and Three Bridges Distillery & Taproom.

FRONT LAWN OF DOW DIAMOND 

Food Trucks & Beer Garden (starting at 4pm): Food Trucks will be on hand with your favorite food and beverages to keep your family full. Bring your friends, family, lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer! There will even be an on-site Beer Garden on the lawn outside of Dow Diamond for those interested.

Leave Those Kids Alone Performance (8-10pm): This band features five talented teenagers ranging from 13 to 19 years old who play faithful renditions of classic rock favorites and have their own album. You asked for it, you got it, LTKA are coming back to Midland!  Music will be on the front lawn of Dow Diamond starting at 8:00 p.m.

City of Midland Fireworks Show (dusk): Get ready for a night to remember, as the sun sets around 10 pm, prepare to be dazzled by a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display.

ACCESSIBILITY DROP OFF

There will be an accessible drop off only at the corner of E Ellsworth St and State St. Handicap only parking can be accessed at the corner of E Main St and Cronkright St. Additionally, Dow Diamond’s circle drive can be utilized as a drop-off location for guests with mobility issues.

  • East End Parking Lot (located directly behind the East End Building)
  • Dow Diamond Outfield Parking Lot
  • Larkin St. Parking Garage
  • City Parking Lots located in downtown Midland
  • Accessible Parking: Available on a first-come, first-served basis at the following locations: Dow Diamond Reserved Parking, East End Parking Lot accessible via E. Main St., and Dow Diamond Outfield Gate Parking Lot

FOR YOUR SAFETY

For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, personal fireworks like sparklers, firecrackers, and other items will be prohibited in city parks. As an additional safety measure, please consider leaving your pets at home while you enjoy the fireworks event. Police officers will patrol the parks during the fireworks spectacular.
