Join the City of Midland Parks and Recreation, Downtown Midland, and the Great Lakes Loons for a 4th of July Block Party on Friday, July 4! The day will be packed with baseball, live music, food and beverage vendors, and an awesome fireworks display. Whatever your style of celebrating the Fourth of July, Downtown Midland has you covered.

Kick off your day enjoying everything the Pedestrian Plaza has to offer. Challenge your friends to some fun yard games or just relax on the comfy outdoor furniture. Add a dash of local flavor by shopping and dining at participating downtown businesses—it’s a day of pure joy and small-town charm!

🎶 Be sure to catch the Chris Canas Band performing live from 6–8 p.m. as part of the Commons Live Music Series, bringing soul and energy to your evening in the heart of downtown.

Then, head over to Dow Diamond, where the celebration continues with baseball, more live music, food trucks, and more—capped off with a spectacular double-fireworks show!

Start your adventure in the heart of Midland, where shopping and dining aren’t tasks—they’re a treat! Mosey over to local downtown businesses and let the retail therapy begin. Bask in the sunshine on the comfy outdoor furniture at the Pedestrian Plaza, and challenge your friends to a friendly game of cornhole—because fun should never be neglected!

FRONT LAWN OF DOW DIAMOND 

Food Trucks & Beer Garden (starting at 4 p.m.): Food Trucks will be on hand with your favorite food and beverages to keep your family full. Bring your friends, family, lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer! There will even be an on-site Beer Garden on the lawn outside of Dow Diamond for those interested.

The Insiders: Tom Petty Tribute Band (8-10 p.m.): Front lawn of Dow Diamond – Live music by The Insiders: Tom Petty Tribute Band, with a special performance by The Bucket Boys from Chicago.

City of Midland Fireworks Show (dusk): Get ready for a night to remember, as the sun sets around 10 p.m., prepare to be dazzled by a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display.

Great Lakes Loons Baseball Game Gates open at 6:05 PM | 7:05 First Pitch, Pre-Game Happy Hour – 50% off beer in-stadium only from 5–6 p.m., balloon artists & face painters 6:30-8pm in-stadium only, and Post-game Fireworks Loontacular. *Keep your game ticket for free stadium re-entry*

ACCESSIBILITY DROP OFF

There will be an accessible drop off only at the corner of E Ellsworth St and State St. Handicap only parking can be accessed at the corner of E Main St and Cronkright St. Additionally, Dow Diamond’s circle drive can be utilized as a drop-off location for guests with mobility issues.

For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, personal fireworks like sparklers, firecrackers, and other items will be prohibited in city parks. As an additional safety measure, please consider leaving your pets at home while you enjoy the fireworks event. Police officers will patrol the parks during the fireworks spectacular.
