Brush Monkeys are taking over Downtown Midland once again this holiday season! From November 7-11, artists will be spreading holiday cheer by decorating many businessies’ windows. Come check out all of the window paintings while you get a head start on your Christmas shopping!

“The Brush Monkey legacy of holiday window painting is a 15 year + tradition starting in downtown Ann Arbor. In the first years, artist John A. Copley, partnered with the Main Street Area Association to recruit local businesses for custom window art. Always kicking off the annual holiday window painting campaign in the late fall, the November painting crew is affectionately known as the Novemberistas.

Each year the Brush Monkeys attract more store fronts. Due to the growing demand, they have grown into a rotating cast of 10+ local and regional artists, working some years into the first two weeks of December.

With more and more businesses eliciting their services in the winter, strings of white, whimsical, decorative, and often humorous, hand – painted store fronts can be seen back to back, lightening up these various downtown city streets.”
