Chalk the Walk

Chalk the Walk with Downtown Midland and Creative 360 on Saturday, May 21, 2022!

Check out Downtown Midland as local artists decorate the sidewalks with colorful, temporary works of art. Downtown Midland and Creative 360 invite artists of all ages and skill levels to embellish Main Street, and maybe even some of the side streets, with their most creative artwork for the community to enjoy. There are great prizes in a variety of categories with all entries evaluated on overall quality and design, as well as reflecting the theme – Art Transforms. Not a competitive type of artist? No worries! We will have a free-for-all section for everyone to enjoy.

Schedule of Events:
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Free-for-all draw on specified sidewalks
11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Artist check-in for competition
12 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Competitive timeframe
3 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Judging of the competition
4:30 p.m.: Awards and prizes

Registration for the sidewalk chalk art competition will be open on April 1, 2022 and will remain open until May 13, 2022. Registration can be found here: https://becreative360.org/events/

All artists will be assigned a section of aggregate concrete sidewalk in either the size of 6 x 6 ft. + 5.5 x 6 ft. OR 6 x 8 ft. + 8 x 5.5 ft.

In the chance of inclement weather, the backup day for this event is Sunday, May 22, 2022.
