Commons Live Music Series – The Family Tradition Band
Downtown Midland welcomes The Family Tradition Band to The Commons Live Music Series on August 14, 2026 from 7-9 p.m.
Performances will be set up on the Pedestrian Plaza Stage in the intersection of McDonald St. & Main St. Bring a chair (or snag one of our outdoor tables), grab a drink & food from your favorite downtown restaurant, and enjoy the music!
The Family Tradition Band has been paving their own lane in the Local Country Music scene for the last several years. Based out of Michigan, the duo’s reputation for a high-energy live show keeps their fans always coming back for more!
Their message is simple… to have people leave their shows feeling “Better Than You Came”.
Family Tradition has rocked with the best from Nelly to the Oak Ridge Boys but most recently has shared the stage with greats like Trace Adkins and Gretchen Wilson, both in 2025.
Their music can be found wherever you stream or download your music from. The biggest release year to date, has been a rocked up cover of the late great Charlie Daniel’s ”The Devil Went Down To Georgia”, which has over 2 million streams worldwide.
Family Tradition has also been named “Best Band” by Hour Detroit Magazine (2021) as well as “Best Country Band” by Review Magazine in Mid-Michigan (2021, 2022, 2023, 2025).
This year’s Commons Live Music Series is brought to you by the Downtown Development Authority and presented Galloup Forberg Smith Merlo. Thank you to our supporting sponsor Jolt Credit Union and community sponsors 1st State Bank, Dow Credit Union, Oxygen Lounge, Poznak Dyer Kanar Schefsky Thompson PLC, Three Rivers Corporation, and Tri-Star Trust for making this program possible.
