Instead of being angry about the cold Michigan weather, we decided to embrace it with a Downtown Midland Winter Fest! Join us on Saturday, February 27 for some outdoor socially-distanced fun in downtown! We will have live music, games made out of ice, picnic tables with heaters to eat al fresco and other heating elements to help you warm up from the cold!

We are so excited to bring live music back to downtown! We didn’t want our musicians to freeze, so they will be performing inside the new NU Idea Center! The NU Idea Center (on the corner of Ashman and Main) has tons of window – so our musicians will be toasty warm and you’ll still get to watch them perform! We will have speakers pumping the music out onto Main Street, so everyone downtown will be able to enjoy it.

Music Line Up for Feb 27:

1pm to 3pm – Shawn LaMere

5pm to 7pm – Empty Pockets

We are also ecstatic to work with Ice Guru to bring three games MADE OUT OF ICE to downtown. We will have a checkers board, a shuffleboard and a set of corn hole boards for people to play. They’ll all be first come, first serve – so get there early! Swing by Pizza Sam’s to get the checkers pieces and by Serendipity Road/Joyful Tantrum to get the bags for corn hole or the game pieces for shuffleboard. Let the games begin!

For patrons who still like eating al fresco we will have picnic tables with heaters on the sidewalk. Grab food to go from your favorite downtown restaurant and eat outside!  You can eat while grooving to the live music or while cheering on people playing the ice games!

We hope to show you that despite the cold – you can STILL have fun outdoors! So grab your coat and a mask and join the fun!

Note: Masks are required inside any businesses, as well as when social–distancing is not possible.
