Gus Macker Tournament
The Gus Macker Tournament is coming back to Midland this year August 8-10 in the downtown area!
Get ready to hit the pavement—and the court—this summer when the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament rolls into the heart of downtown Midland! On Saturday and Sunday, teams of all ages and skill levels will battle it out under the open sky surrounded by the buzz of local life and the unbeatable backdrop of historic Main Street.
This year the fun starts early! On Friday at 6 PM we kick off our first-ever Heroes Tournament, featuring spirited matchups between teams from Midland Police, County Sherrif, the Fire Department, and EMS. After you cheer on your hometown heroes, the Commons Live Music Series will light up the plaza with the Coleman Road from 7-9pm and with Detroit Rock City KISS Tribute on Saturday. Or head over to Dow Stadium, where the Great Lakes Loons will be taking the field Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for family-friendly theme nights and baseball under the lights. You can even spend your downtime between games, enjoying all the Downtown Midland Pedestrian Plaza has to offer. Challenge your friends to some fun yard games or just chill out on the comfy outdoor furniture. Don’t forget to add a dash of local flavor to your day by shopping and dining at local downtown businesses. Enjoy a day of pure joy and local charm, waiting just for you just blocks away from all the action. Whether you’re playing, cheering, or just soaking in the atmosphere, the Gus Macker weekend in downtown Midland promises three-point thrills, slam-dunk excitement, and a community experience you won’t want to miss!
All proceeds from the Great Lakes Bay Gus Macker benefit The Legacy Center for Community Success. The Legacy Center for Community Success is a Midland-based non-profit organization that serves the region with the mission to enhance well-being, strengthen families, and give individuals tools for success using proven strategies in literacy, youth development, and substance use prevention. Be sure to stop by our tent under the Poseyville Road overpass on Main Street during the event to learn more about what we do and say hello or visit: www.tlc4cs.org!
